​Los llamados “Vuelos de la muerte” fueron una práctica sistemática de desaparición y asesinato en la dictadura cívico militar chilena. Las personas eran lanzadas desde helicópteros al mar. Para que los cuerpos se hundiesen, se les amarraban fragmentos de rieles de ferrocarril.

The so-called “Flights of Death” were a systematic practice of disappearance and murder during the Chilean civic-military dictatorship. People were thrown from helicopters into the sea. To ensure that the bodies would sink, fragments of railway rails were tied to them.
