Acción de envolver con cinta de embalaje negra 550 KG de alimentos, distribuidos en paquetes de harina, sal, azúcar, arroz, pasta y legumbres. El gesto transforma la unidad alimenticia básica de subsistencia en una mercancía negada, que dialoga de manera directa con un objeto de tráfico ilícito. Al instalar los paquetes en la escalera, dispuestos uno a uno en cada peldaño, los transeúntes suben y bajan pisando la comida, generando un vínculo con las fluctuaciones del alza y descenso de precios.

Se entiende que el núcleo de todo posicionamiento ideológico está estrechamente relacionado al cómo pensar la organización-distribución de los recursos. Es ahí donde conceptos como compra, venta, negocio, especulación, donación, intercambio o truque se ponen en tensión. Es decir, el entramado de la estructura/guerra social deriva de la forma en que los bienes se utilizan y están repartidos. En la obra, la disposición de los paquetes convierte el lugar en una trinchera a suelo.

Provisiones se plantea como una pieza site specific que aborda la propia arquitectura del espacio y su contexto, teniendo en cuenta su localización en uno de los barrios más adinerados del centro de la ciudad, donde se sitúan almacenes y viviendas de lujo. La instalación convierte al emplazamiento en un rincón en el que se priva y malversa el aprovechamiento de bienes fundamentales de sobrevivencia, poniendo en evidencia al capital como mediador principal en el reparto jerárquico de provisiones, a la vez que se confronta la noción de “valor” con relación al objeto artístico. La exposición emplea el lenguaje del minimalismo como construcción modular, asimilando al paquete de comida como bloque principal y primario, utilizado en la obra como unidad base de sostén de la de edificación social.

An action consisting of wrapping 550 kg of food with black packing tape, distributed in packages of flour, salt, sugar, rice, pasta, and legumes. The gesture transforms the basic unit of subsistence food into a denied commodity, which enters into a direct dialogue with an object of illicit trafficking. By installing the packages on the staircase, arranged one by one on each step, passersby go up and down stepping on the food, generating a connection with the fluctuations of rising and falling prices.

It is understood that the core of every ideological position is closely related to how one thinks about the organization and distribution of resources. This is where concepts such as buying, selling, business, speculation, donation, exchange, or barter are put under tension. In other words, the web of the social structure/war derives from the way goods are used and distributed. In the work, the arrangement of the packages turns the site into a trench at ground level.

Provisions is conceived as a site-specific piece that addresses the very architecture of the space and its context, taking into account its location in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the city center, where warehouses and luxury residences are located. The installation turns the site into a corner in which the use of fundamental goods for survival is deprived and misappropriated, exposing capital as the main mediator in the hierarchical distribution of provisions, while at the same time confronting the notion of “value” in relation to the art object. The exhibition uses the language of minimalism as a modular construction, assimilating the food package as the main and primary block, used in the work as the basic unit supporting the construction of the social edifice.
