FIRMA DE CRISTÓBAL COLÓN (TATUAJE SOBRE PLANTA DEL PIE) 2024
 

Entendiendo la firma como el símbolo gráfico que constituye una identidad, se procede a marcar la planta del pie con la firma de quien es uno de los emblemas principales del colonialismo. El tatuaje se construye en base a una herida que deja marca y en lugares como el pie, con el tacto va disipándose.
El hecho de pisar puede comprenderse directamente desde el aplastar, atropellar y pisotear. Es decir, la obra es una inversión de lógica. Cada vez que se pisa un nuevo territorio, la marca de Colón se borra, haciendo el proceso contrario a colonizar, invadir u oprimir. La acción de pisar se convierte en un acto anticolonial.

Understanding the signature as the graphic symbol that constitutes an identity, the sole of the foot is marked with the signature of one of the main emblems of colonialism. The tattoo is made through a wound that leaves a mark and, in places such as the foot, gradually fades through contact.

The act of stepping can be understood directly as crushing, running over, and trampling. That is, the work is an inversion of logic. Each time a new territory is stepped on, Columbus’s mark is erased, producing the opposite process of colonizing, invading, or oppressing. The act of walking becomes an anticolonial act.
